I am indebted to so many for what was the amazing experience that was DIANE'S DELI.

The powerhouse cast (DAVID EDWARD ROBERTSON, RICHARD ALLEN, EMMA LAIDLAW, JULIE DONNELLY, JO MALONE - working through the agony of torn knee ligaments - and NEIL BELL) that knocked it out of the park every night.  The technical crew (PHIL DENNISON, GILES BASTOW), the film crew that filmed the production every night (DANN MALONE, DANNY LEBEAU McDIVITT, BRAD WILDE).  The team behind the theme song (DENISE MORGAN, HOLLY WYATT, CRAIG EDMONDSON, VICKY BATRAK and SSR) the song and video can be found further down this blog.  JAMES BAKER and THE KINGS ARMS.  CATIA PERRY and CHARLY REGAN for their help on publicity and for CATIA's help on box office and for just being CATIA.  DARREN McGINN for his amazing artwork and the stunning trailer.  To our fabulous photographers SHAY ROWAN and MIKE CRAIG, and to Director NEIL BELL for his passion, blood, thunder and nuanced direction.  We put together a show that we should all be very proud of, and yes, we will most definitely return.

To the reviewers and appreciative and enthusiastic audiences we had every night, thank you, it is very much appreciated that you came.  The cafe is now temporarily closed, and now Tales from Paradise Heights is moving from stage to film for its next production THE RED DRESS, pre-production is already well underway.

The film is a visual depiction of the poem I wrote earlier this year (see below) and there are previous blogs further down this column on the project.

I'm currently looking for a costume designer/dress maker, as ever this is a shoestring budget production but a great opportunity for a costume designer to come up with something special for the depiction of THE RED DRESS, a shape shifting and demonic creation that possesses all who wear it.  The poem is below.
THE RED DRESS by Joe O'Byrne

The way she wore the Red Dress
The fierce struggle, the lost control
Hair thrashed, sweat rained, desire restless
It possessed her body, her heart, her soul

The way she worked the Red Dress
Her Voo-Doo had cast its spell
I had to take this Crimson Temptress
Though I knew it would take me to Hell

Intoxicated by the Red Dress
I took her arm, I heard her gasp
The Victim meets the Huntress
Our dance was slow, our hearts beat fast

Her flesh was hot beneath the Red Dress
She wore it like a shimmering, sweating skin
My black heart would know no forgiveness
The hot red night was filled with sin

The fever rose beneath the Red Dress
As she shed that shimmering skin
The fucking drove us both to madness
A dangerous liaison; a fatal happening

On the bed her crumpled Red Dress
A black tear marks her cold blue face
As I look on her in sadness
Death has taken its one embrace

I feel the dark power of the Red Dress
The broken mirror begs me not to go
Black night and a Scarlett Seductress
The Red Dress leads and I follow

In the club I work the Red Dress
I catch my breath, her scent, her glance
I gasp in the grip of my huntress
And we slowly start to dance...

Hi - I just read that you are looking for a costume designer for The Red Dress. I am an amateur costume designer / dressmaker and I would love to know more about it. I M currently making a transforming Cinderella dress for a production of the Slipper and the Rose performed by Birkenhead Operatic Society Trust at the Liverpool Empire Theatre in November. Please see examples of my other work on my Flickr page. I would love to know more if you are interested? Many thanks, Jonni
